The Story

Every visit is a first page.

Prologue is a small café and bakery in the Melbourne CBD, opposite the Old Melbourne Gaol. We cook where two traditions meet — French pâtisserie and the flavours of Asia, read through a modern Australian lens.

Our menu is shaped by the diverse backgrounds of our team. Canelé and croissants in the morning; gochujang scramble and ora king salmon soba by day. Polished, but unhurried.

Coffee & more

Proudly brewing Industry Beans.

Specialty espresso poured all day, alongside a rotating cast of ceremonial matcha, biscoff-cream cold brew and seasonal refreshers built on whatever's ripe.

The Space

Polished, but homely.

Natural light, warm wood and ceramic on every table. Pull up inside or take the footpath seats — there's a welcome for the whole table, four legs included.
